Recycling items are so inspiring!
I saw this “mess free finger painting” idea on Pinterest and I thought it would be nice to tape it on a table and leave it there for the week so the girls would be able to play with it whenever they would feel like it. To my surprise, one chose to make purple and the other to make pink.
They had fun mixing the colors and watch it change to purple and pink but it wasn’t that big of a success. When I ask why they didn’t like it so much I found out that because I called it “finger painting” they would have liked to do a real messy finger painting. I should have thought of it and find a non-misleading name for the activity.
Of ‘Course we did a proper painting after because I don’t like to do “false advertising”. They both chose brush painting instead of finger painting and had so much more fun loll
It’s “mermaid theme” at the day station!
We started with this great sensory book where the kids can touch and pull things to make the pictures come alive.
After “little hands” helped fill our sensory bin with blue sand, aquarium plants and some shells.
We made another one with purple aquarium rocks
Here they are two mermaid worlds ready to be explored!
But what is a mermaid world without water…
Let the fun begin…
The girls agreed that the purple rock bin was much better because it was easier to build castles with and also didn’t dirty their hands so I decided to do two bins with purple rocks
